Congratulations to Institute member Alok Joglekar for a well-deserved promotion to Associate Professor!! Alok is doing highly impactful work in engineering cell surface receptors that display peptide-MHC complexes and generate an intracellular signal when recognized by matching T-cell receptors. This converts a normally difficult-to-measure molecular interaction into a readily detectable signal, enabling high-throughput discovery of the antigens targeted by disease-relevant T cells. His lab uses these, and related, engineered-cell approaches to map autoreactive T-cell responses and develop antigen-specific cellular therapies for autoimmune disease and cancer.
